ALine East is a multi-million dollar road construction initiative, funded by the Commonwealth Government under the Auslink Investment Program, designed to deliver vital improvements to road transport infrastructure in the wheatbelt region of Western Australia.
The project is being undertaken by an innovative partnership between the WA State Government and private enterprise. Known as the ALine East Alliance, the consortium includes representatives from Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA), Brierty Contractors, BG&E and WML Consultants.
Over a two year period between 2005 and 2007, works focussed on upgrading the safety and efficiency of the Great Eastern Highway between Hines Hill and Walgoolan in the Shire of Merredin. 52km of the National Highway was upgraded.
From late 2009, and due for completion in April 2010, the Highway through the Kellerberrin townsite will be upgraded to complete the works. This includes the upgrade of the intersection of Steelweld Road with Great Eastern Highway.
Staying in touch with local communities is a priority for the Alliance team which is committed to the highest standards of innovation, safety and environmental performance.
